The Lagos State Government recently inaugurated 13 new high court judges, emphasizing the importance of dispensing justice impartially while upholding Nigeria’s Constitution.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu delivered this charge following the judges’ swearing-in ceremony at the Government House in Alausa, Ikeja.
The governor commended the judges and urged them to remain committed to the fair administration of justice.
With the addition of these 13 judges, Sanwo-Olu’s administration has now sworn in a total of 37 judges.
The governor highlighted the significance of the judiciary this week, from the recent summit to the induction of the new judges, affirming Lagos State’s strong judicial system.
Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged the appointment of 24 judges earlier and praised the chief justice for maintaining high standards.
He specifically noted that a considerable number of the judges are graduates of Lagos State University, showcasing the state’s commitment to excellence.
Additionally, he encouraged families and friends of the new judges to support them without adding undue pressure or interference in judicial matters, emphasizing the importance of upholding the law and showcasing their legal expertise.
